Isiah is studying Criminal Justice with the goal of becoming a law enforcement officer. “My goal is to earn my BA so that I can help out my community and give people a sense of safeness knowing one of their own has their backs. I want to lead the charge in police reform, so starting in my neighborhood and having my community see a police officer that is one of them is the first step. I was so relieved when I got this grant because I now don’t have to worry about tuition as much for this upcoming semester so can focus on my studies and helping my family. It means the world to receive the grant, knowing that they are people trying to help out students in situations similar to my own makes me feel wholesome.”
