Rosie is enrolled in a psychology program to gain the knowledge needed to open up her non-profit. “I will focus on trauma. I will focus on mental wellness, substance abuse,…, risk assessment, planning, crisis communication, incident response, crisis recovery, and surviving and thriving. Through the application of psychological principles and therapeutic practices, it is possible to offer transformative holistic second chances for women recovering from trauma, addiction, incarceration, and abuse. I want to empower every woman that I connect with. I want my research to explore the targeted psychological interventions that can empower and inspire women to overcome adversity and achieve long-lasting recovery.
I was able to pay rent and buy my school supplies with the grant from TOH. This has made me feel ready, I feel confident in my studies because I now have the supplies to assist me.”
