Julia is a freshman in high school with wonderful ambitions of either developing her own business or becoming a civil engineer.
“I’m considering these two choices and both are so tempting. In regards to civil engineering… well that is something you can see the impact of everyday. I marvel at how much thought must have been put into making the Brooklyn bridge and if it still stands today just as strong. It would be amazing to be able to design something that can benefit people significantly like that.
You see I have always loved helping people and it hurts me not be able to help all of them. That is also why I am thinking about going to school to learn how to start a business that helps the less fortunate. This grant has served as a stepping stone. I will always look up to this program and hopefully one day I can do what this program is doing too, helping students like myself.”
