Brittnay is a senior at Florida Gulf Coast University who wants to use her education degree to help be a teacher that students will remember. “I truly believe that knowledge is power. Education has the power to change peoples’ lives, and that starts with teachers. I have had so many impactful teachers during my school experience, and that impact reaches further than the classroom. Students are coming into class with diverse, personal experiences, and some of these kids come in with no one rooting for them. I want to help students see that they can be whatever they want to be. The impact that I hope to make will be both in and out of the classroom. I hope to provide an environment where my students feel comfortable and confident to ask questions and make mistakes. Regardless of anything else, my students will know that I am rooting them on.”
