Ruby is studying to get his B.S. in Psychology with a goal of going onto graduate school to become a clinical psychologist. His goal is to help “newer generations break deeply-rooted, generational trauma in immigrant communities by addressing the social stigma that surrounds seeking mental healthcare and even getting it diagnosed in the first place.” Ruby shared that his grant “took a huge weight off his shoulders, especially after his father’s cancer relapsed and get can no longer provide funds for school. This grant has taken a weight off my shoulders. I can’t even explain how relieving it was to receive that safety net… I could finally sleep.”
